Outside the box

In OUTSIDE THE BOX, Tommy finds solace in his creative projects despite his harsh reality. While his father dismisses his crayon-drawn schematics for a magical fort as childish scribbles, Tommy's imagination transforms them into elaborate blueprints. Amidst his father's aggression and alcoholism, Tommy escapes into a dreamlike park, where he experiences joy and freedom, meeting a familiar face only to be jolted back to the grimness of his room, his fort in ruins.
Undeterred, Tommy rebuilds his fort, symbolizing his resilience and hope. His determination to find magic in his cardboard creation reflects his desire to escape his abusive home life. The fort's glow, representing his glimmer of hope, flickers as he faces his father's wrath. In the end, Tommy's fort becomes his gateway to a happier place, blending his harsh reality with moments of imagined peace, where he can momentarily escape his father's tyranny and embrace the warmth of his mother's promise.
